Take Two Steps Back and Listen With Your Heart

I woke up in such a desperate mood that even my coffee smelled like defeat this morning. And for no reason, too. In fact, I launched a successful webinar dedicated to the Dark Mother Kali, this weekend, and set in an embodied Quimbanda ceremony with my partner, last night, so the AM should have been dope….
It felt anything but, though…
Luckily, I allowed myself to sit with my feels. One of the ways I attend to my emotions is journaling in a constructive way, using a Desire Map Journal, by Danielle LaPorte. Tears followed the emotional words on the page. Snot got smeared on the boyfriend’s t-shirt. Articulating my emotional soup was very useful. Hugs helped a lot too.
Eventually, when my mind became less retrospective, and my eyes more focused, I noticed a truth bomb exploding in a small font, at the bottom of the page, saying: “Believe what you want – because what you believe will influence your future.” Danielle LaPorte
Finally, I was ready to meditate on the Name, Resh Hey Ain. Reading, Orna Ben-Shishan’s booklet that accompanies the deck, aa similar line struck a cord: “Your reaction to events creates your reality: Keep moving forward and never look back…“
In other words, this week we’re not only likely to experience a rising of dark emotions; but they will also be flavored with spiritual defeat, and seasoned with emotional disorientation. Nonetheless, we must strive beyond the feeling of helplessness. It’s our psycho-spiritual task to work through it, dispelling the negative. We are called to be inspired by this Divine Vibration, and use it as medicine that uplifts from victimhood, to make us into badass, reality-shapers and foxy, momentum-crafters.

××× Weekly Draw — August 29, 2017
This week’s draw from the 72 Name Cards coincided perfectly with the current events and natural disasters affecting the United States. Another example to how this oracle deck blows my mind time and again. Just look at the image and you’ll get it.
During the Facebook Live broadcast I took upon myself to meditate and send blessings upon all those who need it at the moment in Texas and beyond. And I hope you’ll join in this intention as you watch the video.
On the more general level, this vibration talks about spiritual cleansing and purification. It highlights the importance of decluttering negativity in the form of impure speech, negative people, and harming internal monologues.
This Holy Name helps call upon and manifest sacred spaces of safety and protection. It purifies, cleanses, and protects from adversaries, mishaps, accidents, and places of hostile and / or intense energetics.

Healing with the Playing Card Oracles
a self-made ceremonial version of PCO Alchemy
Going back to the Playing Card Oracles (PCO) has become a tradition of sorts for me. It occurs naturally. Without me thinking about it. When my mind is overwhelmed, preoccupied, uncentered, or when I’ve been over-saturated with other decks and perhaps even with clients, the PCO slides into my hands with  familiar certainty and the repair begins.
Divination is my calling, and cartomancy specifically is a bit of an obsession. I love researching historical decks while supporting new and emerging artists by investing in their art. I enjoy learning new systems of Divination, while always honing my skills. I even experience a sensory, ASMR-like enjoyment from shuffling and handling certain decks.
Although I’ve been reading cards for over 25 years now, I took a sabbatical of a few years, after suffering a massive burn injury while being three months pregnant with my daughter. (Actually I’ve just celebrated my eighth burniversary last week!!!)
The injury itself had nothing to do with my ability to read or shuffle cards. My hands, thank Goodness, weren’t damaged by the fire. Outside of 75% of my skin that was compromised â either due to third-degree burns or because it was used for skin grafting â it was my trust in the Divine that overnight was burnt to ashes, transforming into a rage against everything spiritual I held on a soul-pedestal before the accident.
While I began the long process of rehabilitation, my collection of cards was packed away, per my request, and most of my spiritual possessions given to friends and colleagues.
The following years were spent in healing, both physically and emotionally. Mostly it felt like I was given an infernal membership in a special kind of hell, taking private dance lessons with my demons, as I taught myself how to walk again in real life. The learning curve was steep: from learning about who I really was skin deep, to the fluctuating loyalties of the world around me. I even discovered that it’s possible giving birth in compression garments! (Sorry, burn survivors’ sarcasm.)
However, it is when I saw my daughter for the first time though — a healthy, chubby bun of divine light, with a head full of thick black hair — that I realized inside my chest still existed a heart overflowing with hope, even during the darkest times with my own psyche setting itself on fire.
Fast-forward to a few years later, following a relocation from my beloved Bay Area to the Midwest; to buying a house, to attempting a new career. I was a different woman I thought. Then, out of the blue, I found myself shuffling cards again. I can’t recall how a that PCO deck got out of the trunk and into my hands. But it did. And with it many realizations.
I was aware of the sense of comfort spreading with, as I handled these loose leaves of paper. I missed card reading so much!. And these playing cards have brought an essential part of me back to life.
That fall I dug up the book that came with the cards, and taught myself Ana Cortez’ method. I found her YouTube channel, and later became a student in her online school.
In spring I was fully back to reading cards, rejoining Hoodoo Psychics and AIRR, a magical services organization which I helped founding.
The original PCO deck, as well as the Alchemy addition, hold a comforting sense of clarity to me. The story of my draws unfold naturally, taking shape in the spaces between the suits and the numbers, comparing and contrasting with the colorful characters. Meaning makes itself knows via questions like: “Is there a balance between the red and the black cards? Are all of the suits represented? Can the pips guard their ground against the assertive courts? Is this a prediction of a battle, or an idyllic fairytale of love?”
It’s 10 am, and it is gloomy in Lombard, IL. I woke up with a heavy heart due to dreams of financial crisis and unfinished business. As I sip on fragrantly thick coffee my partner has brewed for me, I instinctually reach for a deck on my nightstand. I shuffle with the intention to make meaning for my state of mind. Is it something external that’s coming at me? Is it spiritual in nature? (In my business witch-wars are as real as gang activity.)
The deck I’m using today is a small PCO Alchemy deck. I’m comforted by the familiar, black and white constellation of the backs, and the way the wholesome paper-stock feels to my fingers.
I draw a vertical, four-card spread â pulling three Clubs and one Spade. The lack in red suits reflects the heaviness of the gloomy weather outside. A confirmation that the cards, my Self, and the world around us is in tune.

The majority of Clubs places a significant emphasis on the Air element, which corresponds to the Thinking Mind. It says loud and clear: “You’re in your head!”
At the top is Sir Galahad (9 of Clubs). He is the âproper” knight, always trying to do the right thing.
Next shows up The Wand (3 of Clubs), looking like an extension of Galahad’s trebuchet, shamelessly revealing my “bi-polar” state of mind. It stresses that I’ve been, without much success, attempting to juggle very positive and very negative thought patterns. If anything, this âJanusâ energy is aggravating, and it’s making me slightly cray cray, which is highlighted in the next card, the 5 of Clubs â Wind Cape.
The cards shamelessly telling me that while I imagine my shit has been under control, the truth is that I’m âloosing it.â
Finally, The Sword of Destruction (7 of Spades), actually brings some solace. Even though it’s a a heavy card from a troublesome suit, its redeeming quality pierces at the foot of the spread; a placement where Earth, an element represented by the Spade suit, is dignified. In a way it grounds the other three Air cards. It helps me stay functional, by offering an “out of the self-mindfuckery jail” ticket.
In other words, the cards suggest that accepting the erratic moodiness my current state of mind generates is the first step for healing and stability.
The more I meditate on this, the more the draw makes sense. Â After all Mercury just went Retrograde, and the Moon is in Gemini.

Daily Draw: Riding Solo with Rose Colored Glasses ×× ×§
How do you feel about Riding Solo, foxy?
Not too keen on it? You and I both! Maybe we need some attitude adjustment? Because we are entering our personal desert of life circumstances, and it’s our job to do some winter cleaning. Besides, today Mercury is going officially retrograde, and so we won’t be short on the opportunities for house cleaning.
Today I am examining the Holy Combination ×× ×§Â Â (Mem Nun Kuf), as I meditate on the density of attachments. Attachments to individuals who aren’t supportive of my cause or happiness; but mainly, I’m prepping to go savage on my inner-closet, filled with outdated self-sabotages, numerous pairs of self-pity, and bitter blame that is way too small for this fox’s curvaceous attitude.
Today’s draw teaches us the mystery of elimination. Of cleaning house from attachments and relationships that take away from our beauty, power, and our grace. It empowers us to act instead of reacting, and ultimately forces us to rock self-reliance till we are the biggest star on the stage of our personal destiny.

Creating a miracle generally isn’t simple, foxy. It is the hardest when you feel down though; and especially so when you feel neglected, unloved, lacking in blessings, or lonely. Ironically, it’s when it’s most difficult that we need a miracle the most.
Although receiving externally generated miracles is undeniably awesome, most miracles are actually created with in us. Surprised? It is our wills, and petitions, and soul dream boards that are Spirits organically project into the universe via the principle of the Law of Attraction, while the Universe multiplies it and forms it into a physical shape we can experience in our lifetime.
Though first, we must surrender. We must have faith. We must be brave. We must believe.Â
Today’s frequency ץ×× (Samech Yud Tet) reminds us of the miracles available to us when we open up to the power of the Ha-Shem within us. Just a little spark of self-awareness â a seed of a desire for personal transformation â will ignite an internal revolution of exquisiteness. And ץ×× is here, helping us ride this revolution.
Visualize this Holy permutation to be the magic rug of the Djinn that uplifts us, racing high into heavens studded with possibilities most precious, that are ours to enjoy. Rightfully! Ours, if we allow ourselves to accept them. If we allow our sense of worthiness to soar into the aurora of miraculous change, this ever-evolving moment offers us.
