ערי + Saying “No Thank You”- daily draw for December 12, 2016

Hey foxy!

Feeling pressed today? No wonder! Have you viewed the daily draw video?

Today’s vibrational wisdom comes in the form of the combination ערי (pronounced Ain Raish Yod), from the 72 Names of G-d. The Gemtaria value of this combination is: 280.

It could be family, or work-related. But it certainly feels like your shoulders can’t handle the weight. (I literally am having a problem moving my right shoulder at the moment, so I feel you!). The most challenging aspect of today will, most likely be, the guilt-trippin’ script you are replaying in your head.

Time to change the script, baby! It’s OK to say: “no thank you,” when the old episode of You Aren’t Good Enough starts rebroadcasting in your head.

Have faith, foxy! You ARE doing all you can. And soon you will regain your strength, improve your coping agility, and feel on it. I promise!

As, Orna Ben-Shoshan, puts it: “You will receive clear evidence that tremendous forces are acting on your behalf at the moment.” (The 72 Names Cards Interpretation Booklet, P.47)

So cheer up, buttercup. That rainbow is just around the cloud.

Here’s a recording of the foxy Facebook Live session we had about this daily draw:

Stay exquisite, my foxes!

Two Music Videos That Had an Impact on Me This Week

These are two music videos the blew my mind this week. I found them incredibly potent, and inspiring in a way that really makes you think and consider where you stand in relation to things — especially relationships.

FKA Twigs — Pendulum

and Sia’s “controversial” (still puritans, aren’t you?) video, Elastic Heart

Wishing you an amazing, inspiring, and creative weekend!

A New Lenormand Deck Discovery

Mary K. Greer's Tarot Blog

Image

I have spent the past two years obsessed with the Petit Lenormand cards, a deck of 36 fortune-telling cards created in Germany in 1846, based on an earlier multi-purpose game called the “Die Spiel der Hoffnung” created by Johann Kaspar Hechtel in Nuremburg in 1799. The Petit Lenormand appropriated the name of the Parisian Mlle Lenormand, the most famous fortune-teller of her age, who died in 1843, shortly before the newly incarnated deck appeared. I’ll write more about these cards later.

I am announcing here for the first time that I have found an earlier set of 32 fortune-telling cards that are the undoubtable forerunner of both the “Spiel der Hoffnüng” game and the Lenormand cards. My source is a 1796 book in English in the British Museum entitled: “Les Amusements des Allemands, or The Diversions of the Court of Vienna, in which the Mystery of Fortune-Telling from the Grounds…

The spreads I almost always use are the Grand Tableau, the 3×3 and lines of 3, 5, 7 or 9. But sometimes it’s fun to play with something else. I see a lot of people adapting Tarot spreads to Lenormand, etc., or inventing spreads, and this is actually OK, there’s just a simple trick to making it effective.

In cartomancy with playing cards, you’ll run across spreads that use a fan for each position. This generally consists of three cards – they can be laid side-by-side, or laid out in a fan formation, similar to the way a person holds a poker hand:

Hence the name. 🙂 You can see an example of a spread that uses named positions, like Tarot, but with three-card fans for each position, at Cardseer’s blog here.

So, using this logic, you can adapt just about ANY Tarot spread…
